Mullymagowan
Proprietors are Dean Annesley and Smith & Co. who set to the Smiths on a lease of 999 years, 5 Irish acres at 21/7, Irish money. Lime is got from Countenan near Stradone and is quarried at 1s. per ton at the quarry. Grey frieze is worn by the women. Four looms are employed weaving frieze. After the loom it is milled and then pressed and prepared. 6 1/2d per yd. is the charge for dressing and pressing and 3s. for milling drapery and pressing. 2/6 per diem is paid as wages. The frieze is sold, 5 eight to 6 eight wide at 3/6 per yard. (Note: "The Meentaghs of Mullymagawan" mentioned in the Inquisitions of James 1. Minteach a grassy patch between rocks. L. O C.) SCHRAUGH (Stravicknabo) Proprietor is Alexr. Saunderson Esqr. Holdings are from 5 to 44 acres Irish. Some tenants have no leases at all while those who have leases hold for their lives. Co. Cess is 4½d to 7 1/2 d per acre. Rent is 18s. to 20s. per acre. Soil is good clay with stones requiring only lime and manure to be made very productive. Surface is hilly.
