Name Books of 1836

Corrawillin

Sometimes called Mill Lavey. Proprietor is Mr. Wm. Burrowes. Held under the Bishop of Kilmore on a lease of 21 years renewable for ever and sublet to 19 occupying tenants on leases of 21 years, at 25s per acre. Co. Cess is from 57d to 87d per acre annually and tithes have been withheld these three years. The soil is rocky. Bog is scarce and the usual crops are oats, potatoes and flax. The old ruins of a church built by Saint Daffeny is used as a station by Roman Catholics for prayers. It is attended by many people in the Summer season from all parts of Ireland and some from England.
